STEVEN KAY QC
Chairman
Steven has been involved in several landmark cases responsible for establishing modern international criminal law including: the first UN trial at the Yugoslavia Tribunal; the trial of the former President of Serbia Slobodan Milosevic; the trial at the ICC of the President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta. He also has wide experience of international fraud and corruption in complex multi-jurisdictional commercial cases and transactions.

He qualified as a chartered accountant with PwC and post qualification had a successful two-stage career first in professional investment management and more recently in the intelligence field. By nature he is a value investor not a trend follower and applies this forward-thinking style to the intelligence world.

Oculus clients now benefit from Richard’s experience spanning two decades working on some of the largest matters in the City of London including the collapse of Enron; the insolvency of Lehman Brothers; claims against the Icelandic banks and the SFO; the manipulation of Libor; interest rate swap claims; international tax investigations; securitisation restructurings; mis-selling of complex financial products; FX manipulation claims and investigations; asset tracing; freezing injunctions; enforcement actions; and the seizure of commercial aircraft and boats.

RICHARD TICKLE

Richard also has an extensive involvement in the intelligence sector and has served as a director for one of the world’s largest maritime security companies, working in anti-piracy operations. Richard is a founder-director of Oculus Financial Intelligence and has spent the last decade working on complex international investigations including liaison with US partners and the US Department of Justice.

BRYDEN
Senior Intelligence Analyst
and Project Manager
He used the latest state of the art open source capabilities and techniques in multiple operational theatres focusing on terrorist networks, social media analysis and other specialist areas. Since Joining Oculus, Bryden has been the project lead on multiple large financial crime investigations involving multi-nationals and international criminals, providing litigation support and expert intelligence collection and support. Bryden is Oculus’s lead analyst when dealing with asset tracing, having identified billions of pounds worth of assets, that have been successfully recovered by our clients. He is also the caretaker of the Oculus dog, a black Labrador.
SCOTT
Senior Intelligence Analyst
and Project Manager
This included understanding local political dynamics and studying the influence of narcotics and tribal issues. In Oculus, Scott specialises in understanding complex geopolitical cases and provides planning and strategic advice to clients. He utilises his experience in using government taught open source techniques and tools, in uncovering the hidden entities behind financial crimes, and combining abstract data to uncover information that is financially and legally material. Scott has significant experience in technical exploitation and processing, and also leads Oculus’s input into developing state of the art artificial intelligence for use in financial crime investigations.
